Heavenly Wanderlust

There is nothing I enjoy more in this world than seeing new places. I'm at awe of God's creation. Whether it's a weeklong camping trip or an impromptu daytrip on the road. I enjoy the mountains, ocean, Sunrises and Sunsets as well as quaint roadside food stands and outdoor coffee shops on cobblestone lined streets. Second only to Scripture, these are where I feel Christ's presence the most and where I recharge. Interestingly as I travel the highway, I pass many places and sites that I don't see and may never see. The world is a large place.

Life is a lot like our road travels. Whether it's like Abram's impromptu road trip with no destination in mind at the urging of God or Christ's planned trip of entering Jerusalem. There are many beautiful things we see or don't see. Some dangers. Others that are just not expedient to do or we could say add no value. It is the beauty of it all that makes it worth it. C.S. Lewis put into the words of " We do not want merely to see beauty... We want something else which hardly can be put into words - to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it". It is this deep longing that is part of the proof that there is more out there that Christ desires to give you.

It is this longing for more beauty that those in Hebrews chapter 11 stood fast in the faith for. They had the deep assurance of things hoped for by the things NOT seen. They knew that if what they saw was this beautiful, God had much better await them.

Jesus also spoke of it in John 14 v 2 " In my Father's house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you." It's yours if you accept it.
